Pull the little rubber boot loose at the lever. Just slip it down the cable, don't yank it off the bike. Turn the large serrated looking wheel AWAY from the lever. Instant slack. ust don't go overboard, a little slack is all it takes to wipe out clutch operation until you tighten the lever back up. If you can fit a playing card between the lever and its housing, that is all the slack I'd run. You can go more if need be, just make sure you don't lose full travel at the business end of the cable.
